the other thing Ive read on the thrax boards ,and it wouldnt surprise me either if it happened, is them doing Rock star:Anthrax ( like INXS and that tommy lee/jason newstead/gilby clarke band Supernova last year ) . If that happens I will not even give them a chance - that would be selling out to the lowest level ever , but it would make Scott and Charlie buckets of money and Im pretty sure that is all they are after these days.

Yeah, but didn't the last series of Rockstar struggle even with Tommy Lee involved who is much more widely known?

ANTHRAX has abandoned plans to utilize the services of SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor on its next album due to scheduling conflicts with Taylor's other projects. ANTHRAX is said to be currently looking for a new singer to join the fold, although this has not yet been officially confirmed by the band or its management.

If anybody is interested, there is a new song with Bush on vocals on Nuclear Blast's new compilation "Out of the Dark". It's pretty good too.

ANTHRAX is strongly rumored to have recruited former DEVILSIZE and ME, MY ENEMY singer Dan Nelson (photo) as the replacement for Joey Belladonna, who left the band earlier in the year. The news was first reported yesterday by the Metal-Blast.com web site and has since been corroborated to BLABBERMOUTH.NET by a source close to ME, MY ENEMY, which is based in Lindenhurst, New York.
Although there are currently no audio samples available of either DEVILSIZE or ME, MY ENEMY, a cached Google snapshot of the DEVILSIZE MySpace profile includes a photo of the 31-year-old Dan as well as a link to his Meez.com profile (a new free avatar site which allows users to create, customize and export avatars to other sites), where his registered username is "danthrax76" and which includes an animated picture of a singer in front of the ANTHRAX logo. (UPDATE #1: Since this news story was first published earlier today, Dan has deleted his Meez.com account.)
UPDATE #2: Photos of DEVILSIZE with Dan Nelson can be found at this location (Nelson is believed to be the only long-haired member of the group in these pictures).
In an October 2007 interview with MTV.com, ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian said that he, drummer Charlie Benante and bassist Frank Bello have spent most of this year writing and fine-tuning a batch of new songs, which Ian said are along the lines of the band's critically acclaimed 2003 album, "We've Come for You All". "We know that we want to make a proper follow-up to 'We've Come for You All', which we all loved," he said. "But we want it to be even better: heavier, faster, hookier. As songwriters, you try to improve on your craft. And fortunately, we've got the time to make that happen. We have no deadline at all because we've got no label deal, so my attitude is, 'Let's make the most metal record we've ever made in our lives,' and I would have to say that's coming to fruition."
If all goes as scheduled, ANTHRAX hopes to finish writing early next year, so they can have the new album out by late spring or early summer.
"We would like nothing more than to have something out in time to play the European festivals next year," Ian told MTV.com. "But in the meantime, we don't have a deadline, so we can take our time writing these songs and making them the best stuff that we possibly can."
Scott Ian has not yet responded to a request for a comment from BLABBERMOUTH.NET.

As first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET back on December 6, ANTHRAX has now officially confirmed that it has recruited former DEVILSIZE and ME, MY ENEMY singer Dan Nelson (photo) as the replacement for Joey Belladonna. The announcement was made earlier this evening during an online chat with between ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian and drummer Charlie Benante and members of ANTHRAX's official fan club. A few excerpts from today's chat — edited by BLABBERMOUTH.NET for clarity — follow below:
Charlie: John Bush [former ANTHRAX singer] will not be coming back. He wants nothing to do with this.
Scott: Not just ANTHRAX, music.
Charlie: John wants nothing to do with this
Charlie: I/we love John, but he does not want to be the singer.
Charlie: There was some real weirdness that went on these last few years, reunions etc.
Scott: We tried to work it out with Joey [Belladonna] for a year.
Charlie: It would've been really amazing if things went well, but they didn't.
Scott: It wasn't meant to be.
Charlie: The relationship with Joey is really good now but we won't be doing a new record with him.
Scott: Exactly.
Charlie: There is NO bad blood at all and things may even happen in the future but right now we're moving on with someone else.
Charlie: Scott and I really like this guy that Rob Caggiano [former ANTHRAX guitarist] told us about. His name is Dan Nelson and he can sing his ass off.
Scott: Sick voice. Like Bush on steroids.
Charlie: Great instrument. And we would like to give it 100%.
Scott: Caggiano worked with him on a demo and he called Charlie and told him we needed to check him out.
Charlie: The songs are F**king awesome.
Scott: We worked him hard.
Charlie: I would like everyone to hear it and then judge.
Scott: The vibe between us is great.
Charlie: We were considering calling it something new but then we thought, "Why?"
Scott: Some of our friends have heard stuff. Everyone was backing it. He kicked our asses.
Charlie: So we had Dan come out and sing and we loved it, He's awesome. He's versatile and a metalhead.
Scott: We're going to finish the songs. Write a few more and get our asses back out there next year.
Charlie: We would rather you heard it from us and not Blabbermouth.
Question from fan: Do these new songs resemble the style of music from "We've Come for You All", or some earlier albums? Or are they a new sound?
Scott: Both.
Charlie: They resemble both.
Scott: We have a song called "Fight 'Em 'Till You Can't" which is straight-up 1988 through a 2007 filter. We have a song called "Revolution Screams" which is 2008 thrash. There's a lot of material and it's coming to life with Dan's voice. We'll reconvene after the holidays and continue writing.
Charlie: It's hard nowadays to try and relive 1986. We were different in 1986. We can reach inside and pull out some of the old school and make ourselves make that music but we don't. The song "Fight 'Em 'Till You Can't" is as organic as it gets; it's not forced and it is like an old-school thrash song.
Charlie: Dan is one of those singers that can change his style and sound. He brings new life into these songs. When he came in and sang "Room for One More" and "What Doesn't Die", it was so exciting. I get chills just thinking about it.
Scott: It felt great to play those songs again!
Charlie: One of the hardest things for us on that reunion tour was not playing those songs.

Man i was literally just at the anthrax site and nothing was mentioned. Had read this guy is a John Bush clone - if you cant have the real thing get an imitation. Hope this all works out well ,Thrax are up there with Maiden for me and I have felt myself liking them less and less since the whole Joey reunion shit ( worst anthrax show I have ever seen ).

Just read this on blabbermouth ANTHRAX, featuring Nelson on vocals, guitarists Ian and Rob Caggiano, bassist Frankie Bello, and drummer Benante, is currently working on all-new material. "We wrote these songs and they F**king kicked ass," says Benante. "It was cathartic. We also want to take our time. This record will be under the microscope, more so than the others. We want to make sure it's 100% perfect." Cool, i wasn't sure if Rob Caggiano was in the band or not, glad he is! Looking forward to the new Anthrax
