personally what i beleive gives metal a bad name is generally the following,bands who dress like there going to a lord of the rings convention,whats wrong with plain jeans and a t shirt.these same bands i feel write cheesy lyrics,i'm not into D&D fantasy grew out that when i was 10.metal fans who only listen to one style,theres so much on offer e;g power,thrash,death,doom,stoner etc.and last but not least GLAM will thats my rant for this eve

Lord of the rings bored the shit outta me! Can't stand it, nor can I hack those bands that write all these gay fantasy lyrics about dragons and bloody crap like that. It's so overdone. Not to mention that the singers all look like they are holding imaginary canteloupes in the air above them cos they are trying to be epic or something. Oh and Manowar are ok at times but can be overbearing for the most of it. Not to mention their new cd is just waffling on for 20 minutes of keyboarded fake sounding orchestral shit before there is anything decent on it. Oh and the leather jocks and fluffy pants are gay too ha! No pun intended though.

Now i agree with psychotron - some manowar is killer but alot of it is filler bullshit. Now to agree for the sake of power metal, for F**ks sake, if people want to use their minds and imagine something epic then let them do so. F**k. Its not gay, gay is those manowar pictures. But anyway, im not arguing, if you's dont like it, F**k you all, i do, thats all that counts!

rob halford may be out of the closet but he sems to still to act like a real bloke.unlike alot of other males in the scene.saw the guy live with he's then band FIGHT,back in 94 top gig,would be awesome to see priest with him back in the band in OZ.saw the ripper owen line up in 2001,also great but prefer original lineup,GLAM still sucks

i feel that the bashing or criticizing of any metal is F**ked we are all metal fans be it power prog new wave death thrash or whatever gene pool your fav brand falls in just because you dont like a particular breed of it doesnt give any one the right to bag the crap out of it Maiden sing of epic battles ie ACESHIGH PASSCHENDALE but no one bags them but a power metal band sings of fighting and battles of a different kind and they get shat on i dont understand we all have different tastes and likes let US not go down the same road as the IMOC and other forums were we are continually bashing another members opinion or likes/dislikes ffs we are ALL metal fans................

Firstly... the JP joke was cause of Rob actually being gay!   As for different types of metal... some people seem to think the heavier the better as if it has more cred... just like what you like! The difference here is that the bashing of particular genres of metal is done with a degree of humour - I dont think anyone takes it too seriously - which was the problem on the maiden forums. BTW -  straight outta the village people or what ! |
