AWESOME GIG! But, hey i knew it had to be, i've always been a big fan!

I wore my DC shirt knowing how much stormster wanted one . Sure enough met up with stormster (finally) and some other people in bar ace before the gig. They were all cool but i pity the poor staff of that pub--broken glass, metal video sing-a-longs, power metal screams of STEEEEL... we were a rowdy bunch.

Missed at least 2 LORD songs while security were being slow to admit people. They put on a good show, but to be honest i don't know LORD songs (only dungeon) so was just listening and rocking out. Suffice to say i knew the most important lyrics: "Born with a steel heart!" Haha adrian and co. were having a blast, complete with pirate flag.

After LORD, I headed back to the madison to kill time whilst gamma ray setup. There was a pretty awesome jack sparrow lookalike there... not sure what the deal was with that. Anyway onto the important stuff... GAMMA RAY!

There was a variety of technical troubles (crew member told us) and we ended up having to chant for them around 10-15 minutes after the crew dude started to encourage us. Suffice to say when they hit the stage until when they left a couple of hours later, i had the time of my life.

I don't remember the order or all the songs but it was something like this:

My voice was already screwed somewhere in the middle of screaming "carry on!" in fight!! But my voice is crap like that, so i just had to sing harder for the rest of the gig! We managed to get two encores i think it was one for somewhere out in space/valley of the kings and another for send me a sign. All the best songs were played and it was a great experience.

I've never seen that many manowar and blind guardian shirts at a gig before! Very awesome.

After the gig kai told us there was going to be a signing event afterwards "somewhere". However after the band left the stage, the security started to try and kick us out of the venue, citing they NEEDED to shut by 12 (it was like 11:50). Well needless to say we weren't budging, but eventually after hearing the word from the band was "we can't do it, we don't have a venue" we left... and promptly camped the back door.

The crew were loading up the truck, whilst we (~50 fans) hung around chatting, with occassional outbursts of future world. Kai eventually came down to start signing stuff, when stormster asked him if dan could come down to sign his freedom call cd. He returned with the whole band, and they got to work chatting, taking photos, signing in the back lane around the equipment truck.

I got my tour shirt and majestic cd signed by the whole band and got a couple of photos with kai (hoping these will turn up somewhere). The band were awesome people, and i made sure they knew ;D.

Well first i was like "hey man could you sign my thongs". Then he went to go put them on and i asked him whether they had these in Germany and he said "yes we do but its too cold". I was like fair enough. Anyway he got sidetracked, had my texta and thongs and was signing shit for others, so im like "F**k it" and told him "keep the thongs, my present to you from australia" asnd he was like "oh thankyou". Anyways, where to start. We were in line and Legend of Huma started as LORD started right on time. This was bullshit as i F**king missed it. As soon as they swiped my card i ran in and forgot to get my arm stamped, that was until security grabbed me, as well as mick i think it was. Anyway straight away i pretty much ran to the front, dodging, pushing, who cares, i got there. I was later joined by my mate Adam, who came to the gig for LORD and not Gamma, and still values LORD alot more than Gamma. Who knos, i dont.

So yeh they put on a kickarse show. For all this gig i was basically in the mosh air guitaring. Ive figured it out. I can air guitar and jump around and if people push me i just push those bitches back! It all works! Got some awesome LORD and Gamma shots on my phone, but cant upload em to PC cause phone is shit. Oh well. LORD rocked as usual, they are just F**king killer. They played The Legend of Huma, Insanitys Fall, Tarrano Del Mar (im pretty damn sure anyway), The Richest Man, Footsteps in the Sand, Resurrection, Steelheart. I think that was it? Maybe they played Better Man as well, anyway, look, it just F**king killed it. I cant wait to the 23rd, a whole lighting show. If i come we have a suprise for YOU Timmy and LORD. But yeh, we'll keep that a secret for now. Which reminds me, you said there would be a few suprises in the setlist, i didnt notice any!

I went to the pub for like 15 minutes next door during the interval. I was shocked, i really didnt give a crap for this Jack Sparrow dude, i was shocked at how F**king many people from the LORD forum were there that WOULD RATHER DRINK THAN WATCH LORD! LIKE WHAT THE F**k! I Pretty much went around to 15-20 people and asked them "wtf are you nuts? F**k off, you are nuts!". Most of this was directed at LORD forumer Turner, but also at the transcending boys and Pyro i think it was. Anyway they're all just ghey. Alcohol is good but fark, music is better than anything. Take music over alcohol anyday. And its not jsut music, its the shit! But oh well, they're choice, i suppose they all like LORD, and LORD are trying to reach new fans, thats the whole reason for these supports, but still!!!

Now onto Gamma Ray. The changeover must of taken an hour. Like far out, it took a long time. I was about 3 people from the front, so i didnt wanna get water cause id lose my spot. This one F**king bald guy kept elbowing me! Its not my F**king fault people from behind me push me into you cockhead. Anyway i wasnt taking the shit and started pushing him back n shit, soon enough the biatch stop, dont mess with pinky.

One thing i noticed from last night, although not know 1/3 of the songs they played, the show was stil the F**king best ive ever seen. Kai, i guess he and thje rest of the band have just been doing this for so long he just knows what to do. The music helps of course, but the guys always had a smile on their face which generated back to me. It was so kool. Highlights were Rebellion in Dreamland, Fight and Send Me A Sign. I Want Out to. They all kicked F**king ass! I was so caught up in my air guitar that i just randomly went down to my knees during one of Kai's solos right in the middle of the mosh, as a rock star does. Then a guy tapped me on the shoulder thinking i was dead. Nice of him! But i was just pulling a mad solo. I felt dead though, by the end, not even, by the middle of their set i was GOOONE! I remember thinking to myself, thats proof that this band F**king rule! My neck kills and i got no voice today but bloody hell it was the best.

"SEND ME A SIGN, SEEEEEEEEEEND ME A SIGN!!!" I msut have screamed it 100 times over the course of the gig, and from what i could hear, it was only me screaming for it, but when it came on (think it was the last song they p-layed) i just went insane. It as just killer. I say killer alot, but think of killer x 10. Thats how killer this was! It was so awesome. One guy kept screaming for Armageddon, doubt they played it but dunno that song too well. Hope they did. Me and him we chanting our song names pretty much all night.

One last thing, sorry to all the people i like slapped on the head, or tapped on the back before a mad solo/tune, its jsut cause i want air guitar buddies! Luv you all. 23rd peoples, come up from Melbourne. Its F**king worth it!
