Meh, Mastodon were pretty crap, was only in there for about half there set.
Slayer were awesome though, the setlist was awesome, really good performance, the sound was incredible. The crowd was a bit dead in some parts though.

I drank like a maniac during the day, bloody Melbourne, BUT was pretty sober by the time the concert started. The crowd were pretty lame actually, sitting down in most seated areas. Mastodon were okay, I have there albums but lost interest in their set. Slayer ruled, the produce every time. Played very little later material and only 2 songs off the new album. Highlights for me were War Ensemble, Post Mortem and ANGEL OF DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEATH!!!!!!!!!!!

It was really weird that they opened up with a song of God Hates Us All though, and the intro track was also the intro track off that album. Definately not what I expected, especially with Lombardo back and all.

Yeah I was surprised by that too. Probably because they didnt tour here on that album i'd say. I was surprised they didnt play more off the new album it was only Jihad and Eyes of the Insane as I recall. It was basically the Decade of Aggression setlist. Wish they played Chemical Waefare but never mind. Angel of Death was insane!!

Surprised they only played a couple of new tracks and stuck with the same old set. I saw them here in Brisbane on the God Hates Us All tour with Machine Head opening. Kinda expected Mastodon not to be that popular here. Bring on Thursday

Sands of Time says they toured here on God Hates us all tour... Beetle said they might have opened with the tracks from that album as they didn't tour here that album? Which one was it, did they tour on last album or not?

Which one was it, did they tour on last album or not? sorry I must have my information wrong I didnt realise they toured for God hates us all, my apologies. I saw them on the Divine Intervention and Diabolus in Musica tours only. I would have likes Hell Awaits also, I forgot that one. Oh and dont expect and encore, Slayer play what they have to play and get the hell off there, BUT it is was good to see them in a big stadium with movie screen backdrop. Not sure what other venues will have around Aus but it worked well at Vodafone.
