Some of you may know me from the IMOC and MFU. I'm working on a comprehensive tourography of Iron Maiden, but I am having trouble with verifying the exact dates the band played in Australia (and the exact dates for NZ they planned on playing before cancelling).
I have conflicting sources on the Australia dates (all dates are in May 1985):
Fan Club Magazine 12 4 Melbourne 5 Adelaide 7 Sydney 8 Newcastle 10 Brisbane
Japan Powerslave Tour Program 2 Canberra 3 Melbourne 4 Adelaide 7 Sydney 10 Brisbane
Gary Bushell's "Running Free" book 2 Canberra 3 Melbourne 4 Adelaide 6 Woollongong 7 Sydney 8 Newcastle 10 Brisbane
The only thing I can verify for sure is that the band did play Canberra, and it was the first night of the Australian tour because of a bootleg in which Bruce says this. I also can verify that they did play Melbourne, Sydney, and Newcastle, but again, I cannot verify any actual dates. I don't have anything to prove to me what the actual date is for this gig or for others.
Could any of you provide a scan of a flyer, ticket stub, magazine/newspaper listing or review? I don't want people to just post here saying, "I know they played this location at this date" without providing some proof. I'll even accept a transcription of an old journal entry written by someone shortly after the concert was played.
I'm also looking for scans related to any tour date for any tour the band has done, especially dates related to Australia and New Zealand because I am having an especially difficult time figuring out the correct dates for concerts in those areas.
Please email scans to maidenshows@ryasrealm.com. Thank you!

The FOTD scan wasn't what I was looking for, but it is helpful in my research for the other dates. I'll take any scan that helps out with tour dates for any tour. I'm just specifically keen on getting Australia and NZ Powerslave stuff so I can clear up the confusion about those dates. I don't have a single ticket stub scan for any of those dates! I know some ticket stub scans or flyers would help clear things right up.

Thanks for sharing, but I have that. It doesn't clear things up because the Japan tour program has the same information (more accurate info, too, for some reason). What I really need are concert reviews, ticket stubs, flyers, or fan journal accounts of the actual Australian leg of the tour or the specific gigs. Hopefully someone has something like that here.

Sands of time or Mr damage, Trooper, maybe those guys! The reason is that it's a generalized document, just like the others that are in contradiction with it. What I need is a specialized document because they tend to be more reliable when conducting historical research (my degree is in history). You can read my critique and valuation of all tour-related documents at maidenshows.ryasrealm.com/masterlistresearchnotes.htm. That should let you know why I find some things more reliable for information than others.

Thank you. I've been working on those tour dates for over two years as part of my graduate studies in history. I got an A on the project from my university (although it clearly still has a lot of work needed in verifying all the dates).

Im no help here, I only got into Maiden in 88 ad the only ticket stub I had , which was from 92 was eaten along with my cache of posters whilst in storage. From what I have heard they played on the 7th in 85 ( Mick was telling me that he wasnt allowed to go cos it was his birthday )
