Just finished my 2nd listen and i really didn't know what to expect with this album, for some reason i was expecting something like The X Factor but this has exceded beyond all my expectations. It's only early days but the standouts for me are The Pilgrim, The Longest Day, The Legacy and 1000 Suns. Here comes the best part....playing it to death!

I was really worried with the early reports comparing it to Virtual XI or something... I am VERY happy to say it is nothing like it... Oh and Bruce is king... people have commented that it sounds like a Blaze album... NO WAY - Sorry but Blaze couldn't come close to sounding as good as Bruce does...

The longest day is definately a standout track for me, i think Bruce did a fantastic job of putting some emotion into singing the chorus of that song. and For the Greater Good of God is brilliant as well, they are the top two from the album i reckon. although there is no bad track on the album, its solid all the way through

Yes, i'm not a big fan of ballads of any sorts but Out Of The Shadows sounds great, way better than Wasting Love and Beenjamin breeg just pumps through the hi fi. It sounds early on like their least commercial album which sounds great, i hate commercial music. TCDR has just started, ciao for now.

<3 the legacy. top song, and when the drums kick in, it really takes off. the solo is also fantastic.
my only meh point about it is bruce's voice sounds like it was recorded in a basement for the first half of the song.
Lord of Light and Brighter than a Thousand Suns are still my absolute favs on the album.

I've definately changed my mind on Out Of The Shadows. I like it heaps now, along with every other song on the album. And all the slower stuff DOES sound like the Blaze years for me. Pretty much exactly like the Blaze years, except with a different singer. But i loved the Blaze years so its all good with me.

it reminds me NOTHING of the blaze albums. i have no problem with Blaze's vocals, but the problem i found was that the albums had many many boring parts to them. There were some brilliant tracks during the blaze era (man on the edge, futureal, the gambler etc) but there were so many tracks that were just plain boring (Como Estais Amigos and Sign of the Cross are two of maidens worst songs, purely because of the boredom factor) and when i think of Blaze, that is what i think of, the boring parts that ruin the albums as wholes. but AMOLAD has NO boring parts to the album, its all just all so incredibly powerful and its a strong album from start to finish

I don't lay all the blame on him, the band just sounded tired and out of ideas and the production just sucks. The new album is nothing like the Blaze albums, this one is good!
