^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Agreed! This is bullshit! I'm starting to think that they could give a shit about their Australian fans. They play all these non-english speaking countries every tour (that's why they got a big fanbase) but us fans here get nothing, totally ignored again. Are Maiden turning into total wankers?

The fact is Maiden could come out here and make money, no problems at all. Small bands come out and play small club gigs and still go home with some cash in their wallets. Maiden would only have to come here one more time for their career and it would please everyone, then they could be done with it, wipe their asses with our flag and stay in Europe where they can rape the fans for their retirement nest eggs.

That's what makes it so frustrating. I don't think money is the issue (even thou it is their excuse), i just truly now believe that they just don't give a F**k about us. Ah F**k it, at least Opeth and Lamb Of God look after their Aussie fans.

I actually think they cant be F**ked playing venues the size of the venues they have played here in the past.
They want to just play large venues, cover 50,000 people in one hit then piss off out of the country. Bascially I think they are over touring as a whole and want to keep it as minimal and painless as possible. Coming down here to play 4000 - 5000 seat venues would be a drop in the ocen and a pain in the ass for them.

If they can play to crowds not much bigger than that in Italy while doing a European tour then I cant see the problem with them doing the same here when they do Japan - where they also play smaller venues. Besides - 4 - 5000 is a bit unrealistic - i honestly think they could sell out Acer or The Ent. Center in Sydney which would be 10000 minimum and they could do the same, or more in Melbourne and probably a bit less in brisbane - they could easily do 20000 + in 3 shows here at 100 bucks a pop plus merchandising - would be easy money for them and it would probably only take between 3 and 6 days for them to do it.

All i can say is we need a lot of people and i mean A LOT of peolple to blanket email all promoters here to get there fingers out of there asses and chase Maiden they are the ones that are responible for any tour. But if Maiden are demanding a HUGE pay cheque for a gig for example they were paid $185000 us dollars per performance at ozzfest so what are they gonna want to come here and there in lies the BIG risk promoters have to take. The cost to a promoter in Aus for lets say SYD BRIS MELB woul possibly run close to $250000 AUS i dont think anyone of them are gonna take that risk and Maiden wont come here and not make money!!!!!!!! I honestly dont think they would sell out the major venues as Skrabsta mentioned i think venues the size of the Horden Pavillion here in Syd would be the biggest they would sell and for a promoter to make money on a venue that size would be impossible

I disagree with mick, and Agree with Skrabsta. How big were Maiden here in their prime? I dunno i wasnt around, but it will be like the Queensryche gig i went to. They sold 1000 tickets, and most of the crowd were over 25. With maiden it will probably be over 35. If motorhead can come down here and play venues like tha (diudnt they play acer?), then im SURE maiden can.

I think they could pull off Acer, I've seen a lot of kids lately with Maiden shirts on. I'd bet on all metalers (current and former) and even emos going to a Maiden concert.

Maiden would have no problem playing larger venues here, the Riverstage here holds about 10000, with it being 90% full for Gigantour and Slayer (with all those bands already toured here numerous times), even when Deep Purple finally returned here after 17years they sold out the Entertainment Centre and have returned here a few times since. Maiden would have no worries.
