I had that T-Shirt, haha.
I was in a band called Klimaxx (style: Skid Rowish, AC/DC), we were in Russia participating a "Cultural Exchange" program. That was for our Visa anyway.
We played at some Universities and was on a music TV show amongst a bunch of Russian bands. Was pretty funny that night, we turned up and the producers asked for our tape. We said f**k no, we aint miming shit. They had to hire equipment from various places around Moscow so they could hook us up to the desk. The bands that night were so bloody sad, they were all dressed up like they were a cross mix of Poison and Pseudo echo, with bright coloured skarves and mullets.
A couple of the bands asked if they could use our gear during their sets, so we decided to checked em out from the side of the stage during their performaces. They were miming with their guitar leads unplugged with the jacks anchored behind our amps, lol funny stuff.
We only played 3 songs, we didn't play all that great, considering the situation though, we did pretty well, but we had some kids after the show approach us as we were leaving the venue explaining how they appreciated the fact that we didn't mime like all the other groups that night. That was awesome. Then we went to the Rossiya (think it was called), Moscows's largest 5 star hotel for a function the TV network had hosted and I got blotto big time, haha.
I could write a book about that trip, was pretty funny the stuff what we got up to and the reaction of alot of people we met over there.

Why 1992? What went wrong in 1991? What do you mean? Iron Maiden was coming to Australia and New Zealand in 1991: Iron Maiden did Japan, but not Australia and Zew Zealand.
