Just watched the 1996 Chile bootleg. Now, the first few songs i was like WTF, he sucks. But i gave him a chance, and realise he rocks live too! He doesnt really have Bruce's stage presence, but he definitely tries hard. Bruce's songs just aren't the same with Blaze on vocals. However, it was awesome to hear some Blaze songs live like Fortunes of War and The Aftermarth, very cool indeed!

Im watching it again, and it rules! I am more focused on the guitar work i suppose, and i really like maiden's capabilities in building up to "awesome tunes" during a song. Since so many of blaze's songs start off slow, and build up, i guess thats why i love the guy and his time in maiden. Performing bruce's stuff he does a good job to, but he doesn't match bruce of course, but then again who could?

Got the bootleg in the mail today. listened to the first 3 songs and the band sounds great, it was a bit strange listening to Heaven Can wait without Bruce, gonna listen to the rest tonight. Thanks again Trooper 71  |
