I should be organising my flights real soon.
I hope the PIA (which I fully support but can not explain why) doesn't effect me too much. Needs to happen and I can live with the consequences.

For our Brisbane counterparts, I need a hand. Is the Brisbane Entertainment center within walking distance of a train station? I am thinking f getting accomodation at a place that is within 1km walking distance of both Zillmere and Carseldine train stations, just thinking whether i could catch a train to the entertainment center (or thereabouts). Otherwise a taxi service or maybe a bus would have to do. Just want to avoid taxis if i can, otherwise ther trip could become considerably more expensive.

Well I have researched a little more Mr. Thorpey. The place I am considering staying at is 3km from the Venue apparently. Closest stations are the ones mentioned, and there is a station near the venue, its called Boondall. I looked up on the citytrain (QLD's train service) website, and it said i have to go to Northgate and change to get to Boondall, a total journey of 45mins. I could walk 3km in less... So, if all the information is correct, then I will just walk to the venue or taxi it. Just waiting on Sands or Arise to help me out with directions.

Since Boondal is a little way out of of the city....I wouldn't bother with the trains. Just jump in a taxi with a few mates...and split the fare. Should only be 10 bucks between all of you. Make sure you ring earlier in the day and book it though. Because I get the feeling, there will be heaps of taxis going out that way. I'll have to have a look, but they might have a shuttle bus running from certain train stations too,....but that is a guess. I would taxi it.

I don't think my car will be full.

But no can do mate, i'll have 2 mates with me, along with 2 brothers most likely. Like Arise said, i can taxi it no problem, but i thought train may have been easier. If you got a number for a taxi Arise or Sands let me know. My brother may drive up, if so they can drop me off. MOZ and troops might be staying at the same place too, so we can always go with them. Cheers fellas.

What are some suburbs like within 10km of the entertainment center in brisbane? Or does anyone know close accomodation. I tried getting a place at trooper's joint but it seems to be mostly booked out, only selected rooms available.

^^^^ The surrounding suburbs are good. Compared to Syd and Melb Brisbane is small so it isn't too much hassle getting around. The Entertainmnt Centre is out at Boondall which is only about 15-20 min drive from the CBD and the Boondall train station is right next to the Ent Centre, you only have to walk about 5 mins through the wetlands to get to it, just follow the metalheads, they'll lead you to it.
Looks like i will be driving so if anyone needs a lift, just PM me.
