there doesnt seem to be a way to add smilies.

You should be able to change your own avatar. Just upload your pic onto www.photobucket.com after making it 100 x 75 pixels in size. Then quote the url in your profile on this site. |

Use imageshack, if it won't let you then, then it's something wrong with your computer, because my avatar is hosted on imageshack.

ok when you make a reply....do you use the quick reply box located at the bottom of the screen?
Or, do you click the "reply" link at the bottom of the last post in the thread?
1st option....no smilies available
2nd option....smileys found just above the text window
