Seconded. And making jokes, seeing the lighter side, is something Aussies are good at, tis part of our culture, personally I don't think it should be stopped. It's not insulting to either of the two Legends, it's not saying anything negative about either of them. Simple jokes like that don't hurt anybody. No disrespect meant to you AMF. I (like Big John) am a strong believer in freedom of speech. well as a mod I found it insulting to the legends...that is my freedom of speech nite  |

WTF!? My joke was removed simply because they were Aussie icons? In the joke thread I posted a multi-paragraph Irwin/Brock joke, and it hasn't been removed. Now if my joke in here was removed because I should have only posted it in the Joke Thread, then OK, I can understand that, but from what you said AMF, it sounds like it was removed only because it was about Irwin and Brock. And since I have made an Irwin/Brock joke in here earlier and it hasn't been removed yet, I have to say, with all due respect, the reason you cited for only removing this ONE joke sounds sort of stupid (that or you haven't been paying due attention to all the posts on this site like a good moderator should  ) So just because someone was famous or an icon means they no one can make jokes about them? I don't know about you AMF, but I bleieve in a little something called FREEDOM OF SPEECH, YOU OPPRESSOR!. I'm guessing you wouldn't like those 2 South Park episodes that cracked a couple of Steve Irwin jokes either. Note* The oppressor bit was a joke. Please don't hurt me...No your joke was removed because of their recent deaths could offend some fans. Freedom of speech and jokes are not on the same category whereas this is concerned. I never noticed the other jokes. been busy. Don't come here and evaluate my mod status...I have been a mod and admin in the past and on other forums for years...thank u very much! |

As a mod AMF did what she fely was right and i respect that decision.
Personally - i read the joke before its removal and found that it was more tasteful now than when i heard it in the week of both their deaths.
I dont have a problem with Brock/Irwin jokes but just remember some of us felt a bit stronger about 1 or both fof them so it is probably best to stay walking on eggshells in regards to this for the time and being if in doubt run it by a mod before posting it.
