Here here .. seeing someone fall over and brake a bone as result of " Practical jokes involving slippery floors and copious amounts of shaving cream " don't seem funny to me either ... He wasnt truly pissed off lol. And i think he has a point, websties you go to that you rely on and trust don't need to be doing these things. Here I'm cool with it, but if the storm website said cameron smith was out all year, i would be F**king pissed off! Bucko, id find that funny lol. |

Stormster and I aren't really angry, it's just that we've been coming here to read up on news of bands and such for a while now, and as such, we've come to kind of unconditionally trust the news people here post (because hey, we haven't had reason to mistrust it in the past so far, and has always been accurate). Same as the various news sites we'd go to. It isn't really that you posted some fake stuff, it was just something that got our hopes up so high that we felt floored when we found it wasn't real. Sure, some of the stuff in the post as you said wouldn't ever bloody happen, but a year ago if you told me Maiden was finally coming back down here, I would have been skeptic as well. Since we have learned that what we thought of as impossible has already come true once before, and since we trust the stuff in here rather implicitly, we assumed we weren't being duped. And how the hell is a ticket-sale date of the 6/06 supposed to be a clue it isn't real? Unlike other people, neither Stormster or I see biblical references in other things unless they are quite obvious, since neither of us had religion in our upbringing. Besides, if a metal band decided to sell their tickets on the 6th of the 6th, I wouldn't be too surprised. Some bands would love to do that because of the 666 thing. Once again, I want to state I am not angry. I am just sick of having to scrutinize everything on the 1st of April, even at places I implicitly trust. |

I'm glad Stormster told me this was an April Fool's joke before I read it in here, otherwise I would have gone off the deep end with excitement and felt a soul-shattering disappointment similar to Stormster's when I discovered the jovial nature of this post. And I for one am sick of fake news as an April Fools joke. A practical/personal joke is one thing, but making up fake news just pisses me off. I rely on the sites I go to for news, and as such I trust them to have integrity. When this shit happens, it then throws everything else I read there into doubt. To summarise appropriate April Fool's etiquette: Practical jokes involving slippery floors and copious amounts of shaving cream : COOL Fake News (including a fake IRON MAIDEN IS COMING BACK post) : NOT COOL Man...for someone that then goes on to say they are NOT pissed off....you sure sound pissed off in the above post! Seriously, this "news" was false from the start. Anyone could see it, although some of the clues weren't as obvious as Skrabs thinks they might have been. The part about Bruce opening the show with his solo outfit was a dead giveaway...also according to the post we'd have Lauren Harris, Bruce Solo, another international band, some local supports, AND Iron Maiden....5 bands at least!!! Never going to happen logistically. |

LOL, remember when a lot of you were talking about a THANKYOU tour? Well,. i realise Bruce opening solo was highly unlikely, but maybe this was his sort of thanjyou. Originally when it said "festival", i thought they were playing Big Day Out and cringed at the thought. My point is that I trust everything on here and thus read it and went insane lol. F**k you skrabs. This is a classic though lol. You son of a bitch. You know how good it feels to get so excited, and then how shit it feels to realise its not true? Thats all im saying, not pissed off, really, i should have seen skrabsta doing this shit lol. You biatch!
