Soulfly aren't real metal. Machine Head are alright, I give you that one. The only Opeth video they will ever play will be The Grand Conjuration which is their worst song, on their worst album. And Slipknot aren't too bad, I actually enjoy alot of their songs, but no they are not real metal.

My point is its better than nothing, would have been good if it were on weekends tho, youngsters who are yet to discover the awesomeness of metal would stay up longer.

I'm not saying that from my own point of view, because like you said, everyone has different perceptions of what 'real metal' is. I was more basing that on the genre tag that they are generally included in, which is more hardcore/alternative metal.

What Opeth, Machine Head, Soulfly aren't real metal? Last i heard Slipknot were pretty F**king heavy too. You know, your favourite band ever, are also on Roadrunner - the almighty Dragonforce.  Yeah, hate to say it, but bands like Caliban, Ill Nino and especially slipknot (ALL 3 on roadrunner) are really the absolute low-point of all metal for me. Odd that bands with such talent as Opeth are on the same label, because they have really realeased some music worth anyone's time in the past... |

Don't get me wrong, i F**king dislike Roadrunner. It pisses me off when they release the same album twice with different packaging etc.It's a real rip off and insult to the fans. A few bands i like happen to be on that label. But yeah your right about Ill Nino, Caliban and all that nu-metal horseshit, gives metal a bad name. I mean Roadrunner signed Nickelback ......that's reason enough to hate them! |
