I rang Y&J before, were allowed to wear casual and neat clothes...so I guess if you're not wearing pants they wont let you in. lol! They hold upto 470 people, no more. I mentioned that i'd be having a general meet up for the Iron Maiden show next year and the lady I was talking to was really nice and helpfully. She said if I needed anymore help I could ring closer to the day. When I mentioned Iron Maiden to her I thought she's say "Oh yeah, I know them", but all I got was a pause for about 5 seconds. lol!

Cool about the no dresscode thingy.
I was under the impression they'd completely yuppified the place up after the renovations.
Ya know.... There's another option for a pub which is also walking distance from Rod Laver, and that's the ole Corner Hotel in Richmond.
Doesn't get too many other people in there during the day so we'd pretty much have the place to ourselves, plus there's a beer garden upstairs now. AND it's a well known venue for metal gigs as well so we'll all just fit right in there wont we. hahahaa

I'll browse through the city pubs on the net and see which one will be best suited to our tastes.

Look, Young and Jacksons was awesome for a meetup, in a good location. But i mentioned it to sean (who might come down to melbourne again) and he was totally against it. I did remember 1 beer being 8 bucks, thats just TOO F**kING MUCH. Seriously.... Im used to $4 beers up here, and thats in the CITY! So theres no excuse for charging so much down there, unless its a top beer, but not for shit like tooheys. Im up for it, but im telling you now, alot of others wont be, or will come and get scared away by the prices. Man, i pretty much lived at that pub. All Friday, all Saturday, and i spent Sunday morning asking all the A-League fans whether they had spare tickets!!! Its like a second home for me, definately spent more time there than in my hotel room lol!! Anyways, id go there, like i said mad location, but is there anywhere else we could go that also has a good location? And is cheaper? I really want an EXCLUSIVE BDU ONLY BBQ though, I always meet people but I feel you group are a special bunch and i would like it just being us, that would be F**king awesome. Im probably gonna be in Melbourne for more than one day, so doesnt need to be the day of the gig, but I am thinking others will only be there for one day, so having the BBQ on a non-gig day is probably stupid.
If you guys want a BBQ in Sydney, i could maybe throw one, but its like an hour, hour and a half travel from the city by public transport, so yeh. Plus, id have to kcik my parents out for a week lol (you dont realise how much that would rule!!). Anyways, love ya all!

I just rang the Corner hotel. They allow several hundred people upstairs and down. There is a small down payment if we want to secure the whole of the beer garden upstairs. But that probably wont be necessary since alot of people will be at work around the time of the meet up. I can't be exact on what they have on tap or how much it is, but i'll get a price listing tomorrow when I ring the manager again since she was in a meeting. I'll also see if we can play Maiden over the speakers upstairs, but this will probably only be allowed if we put a down payment on the beer garden since it's considered a party. Check the link out to see what the upstairs looks like. www.cornerhotel.com/?id=55965062Not bad, I thought it was going to look like a hole. lol! Im starting to think that the Corner hotel will be a better option, plus it will be alot closer to the venue and we can all probably walk to Rod Laver after the meet up. Plus they have PARMA N POT night on Wednesday, so that will be good aswell for people who dont want to spend much on food and still be filled. Damn, this place is awesome. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, MaidenOz.
