Haha!! sorry to clog the other thread up , there were so many Maiden thread I didn't know where to go. Thanks for putting in here. Ok guys, get cracken and start adding. It's much like my Blind Guardian meet up I had earlier in the year, just a good reason to meet up with other fans, get pissed and enjoy the tunes of Maiden. I'd advise if people also make a Myspace page for Perth, Sydney and Brisbane aswell. You dont have too, but im sure it would be good to get the same thing going in other states. Cheers,

Moving posts over Ok I started a Myspace page for the Melbourne meet up,
www.myspace.com/maidenmelbournemeetup
It's pretty boring at the moment, but i'll jazz it up in the morning. I dont know what others will be doing in Perth, Syndey or Brisbane but it would be good if we got other people to make a page for other states.
Wrathchild would you like to help me out like you did last year with the BG meet up? Would be greatly appreciated, and anyone else for that matter. The more the merrier. 'll help with the meetup although I have already started one myself by just emails and vocally we have 5 months so we have time.Good idea I will join in :(I dont know where to have it though, Young and Jackson wiil be good because they allow over 400 people at once and it's the closets bar near a station or tram junction which would take people to Rod Laver, or if you're keen you can walk to Rod Laver from Flinder St Station. I think that takes around 15 - 20 minutes from when I last did it.
Still, I'll do some research with some bars near Rod Laver, but I reckon Young and Jackson would be a good idea. I'll keep you guys posted when I get some more info together. [/size]

Im about to promote the Beast Downunder forums on the myspace page, I hope everyone is ok with this? I'll make sure to tell everyone its a serious forum and wont allow the activation of an account just to say "Maiden is coming to Australia", then never post again. I'll make it loud and clear this is for Iron Maiden fans and serious posters. I was also thinking about putting together a soccer match before the gig, we could all chip in afew bucks for a prize and give it to the winning team. Just an idea, we could just have the game at one of Melbourne's fine parks, or I could look around for a decent football ground near then CBD area. Let me know what you think. Cheers,

Count me out of the soccer match. Sorry, not interested. Doesn't Y&J's have a dress code now? It's gone all yuppy now I think. I'm happy with Parra by the Yarra. BBQ, a few drinks, sitting on the lovely banks of the river just chillin with all the other BDUers. Remeber Wrathie when Dave Destruction used to put on the big Parra by the Yarra parties every Christmas? Plenty of booze, good food, and lotsa laughs!!

When I set up the Blind Guardian meet up they didn't care about dress code, alot of people just wore jeans and a metal shirt. I'll ring them tomorrow after work and see If I can work something out. But from last I looked there is no dress code before 11pm. Thats the time you'll get the Yupps anyway, most of them will be at work or staying home since it will be on a weekday...and it's not like Y&J can kick out a massive group of people for the way they dress. Still, i'll work some shit out with them tomorrow and get back to you all. I might leave that soccer match for now and do something else, but I reckon it will be better if we just sit in the pub all arvo with the AC blasting drinking beer. Sounds like a plan.

We gonna need the AC in Feb I am still up for *parra by the yarra* just for the BDU members perhaps as it gets nearer? MOZ yes I rem Dave's do's how could ya not haha

Im thinking ahead of myself with the AC, but last I checked Y&J allow 500 people max in the pub area. I reckon most fans will either wait at Rod Laver, or just rock up before the show starts...plus you'll have the occasional late person aswell. This wont be like the BG meet up since the show will be on a weeknight and alot of people will be getting off work by the time I set up the meet up. Still, Im thinking that the show will probably start around 8:30 and finish somewhere near midnight. So if I start the meet up around 6 - 6:30, this will give everyone enough time to get tipsy, chat to some fans and then we can all work our way to Rod Laver. But as you said, it's still early days.
