Storm are just on fire. F**k me, we slaughtered the roosters. Anthony Quinn is awesome.
Mitchy boy, are you gonna come up for the storm grand final win again? I need to know so i can sort out my ticket arrangements. If you arent gonna come let me know asap.Just keep me in the know on if you're coming, if you can get me a ticket, etc.
I also read in the paper that Greg Inglis is thinking about joining up with Sonny Bill Williams manager, Khoder Nasser. The last thing i want is one of my superstarplayers F**king listening to F**kwits like Anthony Mundine and Khoder Nasser. If Inglis wants to leave the Storm, fair enough, but doing a Sonny Bill Williams mid-contract is F**ked. Atleast Gasnier waited til the season was over, i respect him for that. I've heard Inglis say on many occasions that union is boring, so why would he even consider a switch? I dunno, rugby league is becoming all about money like soccer, and i dont like it.
Which brings me to the point anyway. Who do you guys think the most valuable players are in the Storm team? I reckon thats honestly, with Smtih we'd be a shell of the team we are now. I'd lock Smith into a ten year F**king contract. Inglis is the 2nd bigger factor to our team i reckon, followed by a well-developing Cronk. Cronk has already re-signed, but I want to make sure Smith is there for ages. Guys like Billy Slater are overrated. All he has is speed. Anyone whp is motivated can be a support player. All the good fullbacks in the game support well, Slateris just another good fullback.

the way slater has been playing this season , Id have him above Inglis. Inglis just does weird things that seem to come off - he is as much about luck as skill ( not saying he isnt a great player ). Smith , I think , will jump ship once his contract is up - either to Brisbane or to St George.
As for INglis wanting to hook up with that parasite Nasser and his cabin boy Mundine - if Inglis has stated that union is boring he very well might end up in the ESL - the quota of O/S players they can have changes next season so clubs over there will be looking for younger players with more skill to bring over rather than getting players who just want a big pay packet before they retire.
anyhoo - with this whole players going to rugby thing, what pisses me off is that a player as good as Luke Rooney couldnt get a contract with any NRL club for next season but Toulon ( where SBW is now )were prepared to offer him a contract along with a couple of ESL clubs. He gets offered 650k per season so he takes it , now because of the way SBW has switched codes ( the wrong way ) players like Rooney are getting mentioned in the same way people talk about Williams - who is a dog - what sort of dirty C*** walks out on his team mates when they are struggling. At least Rooney waited till A - he was off contract and B the season had ended. Even a player like Mark Gasnier - who I absolutely loathe - has made his switch in the right way.

And if what he is suggesting about his contract not being fulfilled is correct, i would have done the same thing. Rugby is F**king boring tho. I really think Melbourne will offer so much money to Smith, hes so important, but if he wants to move, thats a different story.

Thing with Melbourne is theyre gonna have to start letting players go otherwise they will be over the cap and if it came down to choosing between smith and Inglis they would probably choose Inglis as he worth more in the way of sponsorship dollars than Smith - id personally be offering SMith whatever price he asked for to stay and letting Inglis go. |

If it only came down to ability and the importance of that player to the team, then Smith would be my choice too. I think the rumours you'veheard arejust that, rumours. I remember Bellamy said he confronted senior players at training like Cronk, Smith, Hoffman, etc. and they all said they wanted him to remain, which tells me that they want to be coached by him. I always thought the queenslanders in the storm may want to play for brisbaneone day since they're all from up there, but who knows. Lets say i wouldnt be surprised if it happened. |

Yeah, it's usually two tickets per person which means my Dad gets two (him and Deb) and I get two (me and a spare), but my sister is coming up this year so she will get my spare one. So it depends on how many we get total and whether anybody else has any spares. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Well, the panthers put up a good fight it helps to have aa referee penalise you out of a game. How he didnt cal smith offside at all in the first half is betond me - he was always standing right next to him but at least a meter in front of him. and how the touchy didnt come in when wesser was grappled not even a meter in front of him is beyond me. there seems to be a different set of rules for the storm - the way I see it is the NRL think if the storm win a few quick premierships it will help promote the game down there. I F**king give up. The ref didnt lose us the game , but he didnt make things any easier. I dont care that we lost - Im a Panthers fan - Ive gotten used to mediocrity. ANd the thing that sux the most - the teams that are any chance of making the GF along with the storm are Manly , the roosters the sharks and the broncos - probably my 4 least favourite teams. who do I go dor cods I sure as hell dont want no south of the border mexican team which is full of canadians winning back to back grand finals. ha - just realised - the only 1st grade player ( that I know of ) that was born in victoria actually plays for a team based in QLD ! how Ironinc! |
