Funnily enough I have thought about this and the chances are maiden may well bring a relatively large international support with them to ensure strong ticket sales to fill large venues. I would love to see say Anthrax tour with them but that might be being a little ambigious. I would LOVE to see some local talent, Alchemist support, that would blow my mind!!! So it's Alchemist for me!!

Lord.
As much as I would love a Melbourne band to get the spot, and Black Majesty and Vanishing Point are bothing F**king awesome bands, Lord deserve it. They do the most to promote themselves and get themselves out there.
But anyway, Maiden might not even have a local support. They might bring an international support down with them, like Slayer and Heaven and Hell have done/are doing.

i was going to include MAIDEN OZ but i think that would be a bit tacky to have a tribute band support the real thing (no offense to MAIDEN OZ you guys rock )

they are indeed great live. I have seen them a number of times..albeit a long time ago. I remember their gig supporting Cathedral and Paradise Lost at the Prince of Wales and they were awesome.
What album is the song Maiden on? I cant seem to find it?

I hope it is sort of like a mini festival of sorts - Iron Maidens AUSFEST Iron Maiden and supports ( not specifically in this order ) Lauren Harris ( its a given unfortunately ) Anthrax ( Theyve been known to tour with them in the past and to have them both on the same bill in Oz would be awsome ) Soilwork - they just F**kin rule - plus its something to bring the younger metal fans in LORD ( i hope to F**k it isnt Black Majesty - their first 2 albums bored me to tears. If lord cant do it get either vanishing point -they were were excellent at DF or Mortal Sin - more old school )

I would LOVE to see some local talent, Alchemist support, that would blow my mind!!! So it's Alchemist for me!! Exactly what i was thinking.....ALCHEMIST!! Why, because they deserve it. They've been together for over 10 years and done all the hard yards without a lineup change (correct me if i'm wrong there Beetle) and imo they are the most original metal band to come out of Australia.

Seriously - depending what mood I am in its either Black Majesty or LORD. Haven't been listening to much Dungeon/LORD lately because i have so badly over played it in the past, so currently Black Majesty are just a tad ahead. But i did put my vote in for LORD because, as Mitch said, LT does seem to try his heart out, along with a couple of other Sydney guys up here (if you ever read this Dave we all luv ya!). I think Black Majesty are doing their thing in Europe, so LORD should be able to get their name out there. Althought they're both POWER metal, i suppose they are anyway, Dungeon/LORD are more old school with that harsher sound, atleast to my ears. Anyways, my vote is for LORD.
