Just got this in an e-mail from AC/DC.com.......
Something big is coming... You've heard the rumors. Now you have the facts.
For the last few months, we've heard you whispering in dark corners of the internet. We've heard the hushed tones you've used in your favorite watering holes. We've heard your back alley mutterings. So, we thought it needed to be said loud and clear - AC/DC's got a new album on the way.
The boys have been holed up in a Vancouver studio with producer Brendan O'Brien and longtime audio engineer Mike Fraser, cooking up their first collection of new material since the 2000 release of Stiff Upper Lip.
Fans can expect the new album sometime later this year.

According to a posting on the unofficial AC/DC web site AC/DC Electric Shock, AC/DC's new album, whch will most likely be called "Black Ice", will be released by Columbia Records on October 28 in North America and October 27 in the rest of the world. The first single, "Runaway Train", which was also a contender for the album's title, will be released in late August. Details for a world tour starting in late 2008 should be announced in the coming days

I'm looking forward to it. I know it was a long time ago, but I actually quite enjoyed Stiff Upper Lip.

Columbia Records has set an October 20 release date for AC/DC's widely anticipated "Black Ice", the band's first studio album in eight years. "Black Ice" (see artwork below) features 15 new tracks from brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams, and Phil Rudd. The album was recorded in Vancouver in just eight weeks with producer Brendan O'Brien, who has previously worked with PEARL JAM, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN and VELVET REVOLVER, among others. "Rock 'N Roll Train", the album's first single, will debut on August 28. A source at Harddrive Radio described it as "smoking hot. It's AC/DC like we love them, loud, anthemic and hard!" The video will premiere in September. "Black Ice" track listing: 01. Rock 'N Roll Train 02. Skies On Fire 03. Big Jack 04. Anything Goes 05. War Machine 06. Smash 'N Grab 07. Spoilin' For A Fight 08. Wheels 09. Decibel 10. Stormy May Day 11. She Likes Rock 'N Roll 12. Money Made 13. Rock 'N Roll Dream 14. Rocking All The Way 15. Black Ice

I was expecting alittle more from the cover, it seems very simple. Still, the music is what counts. Oh, I heard on the grapevine today that AC/DC are planning to have the final show of the tour in Uluru, so I guess Australia will be the last country they tour.

AC/DCs album covers have always been very basic... this one is probably more detailed than most.

meh - im sure its gonna sound like every other album they have made. pass. Probably... if it didn't there would be something wrong.. they've been doing this for 34 years now... you know what you are going to get with ACDC... they are still one of the best bands out there... if this kicks ass it would be great after all these years.
