I often listen to ABC Radio Canberra (666am) and this arvo when I was driving to pick up my kids from school they had a segment about songs that gave poeple 'goosebumps' or shivers down the spine. There was a professor who had studied the science of music and how it affects peoples psyche and emotions etc. Additionally they let people ring in and mentioned their 'goosebump' song and they played some of them (whole) and snippets of others. So I rang in, and spoke with the presenter about Paschendale - and how it was the first song to ever give me goodebumps and what it was about etc - spoke for about 2 minutes or so - plugging the Beast! ;D Even cooler - THEY PLAYED THE FIRST 30 SECONDS OR SO OF PASCHENDALE 3.30PM ON ABC RADIO - never would have thought I'd live to 'hear' the day!

Dude ABC radio goes National doesnt it? Thats F**king awesome!!!! Im doing psychology at uni and one group in my year is researching a similar thing. I just know how music (MAIDEN) moves me so much. It would be an interesting area of research, too bad i didnt get it. Surprising that they could get their hands on Paschendale lol, wouldn't think that would be on the ABC radio's database of songs. I wonder how they got it so quickly lol. Nice to hear from ya too dave!!

Thanks mate, ive been away too long I know.
They had it in the melbourne studio (I figure thats where they broadcast 3 hours of power from)and upstreamed it to the canberra studio. I think it was only ABC Canberra but hey what the heck! It was a rush to get to talk about Maiden on radio and even cooler to hear some Maiden played.

good work Dave... wqould have loved to hear that.
I listen to Red Symons (ABC 774) all the time on the way to work and always think it is ironic that he met Harry at Shirl's funeral, not mention they had the poor original version of Women in Uniform!!
