HARRY Potter fever gripped Melbourne yesterday as up to 400,000 copies of the final book in the series were sold across the city. Crowds flocked to Federation Square, the City Square and CBD bookstores for the official countdown, with boxes of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows finally opened at 9.01am. More than 5000 fans joined actor Sigrid Thornton's countdown to 9.01am in Federation Square and more than 200 eager fans gathered at Dymocks' Collins St store before its books had even arrived. I gotta have this book! I love the films! LOL Thoughts?

Bought it... read it... finished it at about 9:00pm on Sunday (day after it was released). Would've finished sooner but there was a Simpsons marathon on FOX-8 with episodes I have barely seen, so I would take a break every few chapters to watch an episode.
Great book, now I see why J.K Rowling said she considered this and the previous book (The Half-Blood Prince) to be two halves of the same book/story.

i hate harry potter - the first book was boring - so I didnt bother reading anymore after that and the films ( the first 3 anyway - Ive not watched the next 2 nor will i watch the last 2 )are just as bad. If I had my way I would have had the guy out of doom go to hogwarts and kill everyone with a combination ofmachine guns , explosives hand to hand combat and chainsaws .
