BDU goes environmentally friendly

It has come to my attention that a dark coloured computer screen uses less energy and is therefore better for the environment than a bright screen, so for this reason the sites colour scheme is going to be having a major makeover.
Once Demonizers band KNIGHTMARE - www.knightmaremetal.com - have had their E.P launch this plave is gonna change.

So, if you dont like the colour black ( ok ok its a shade - shut the F**k up ) you might want to -
A - take a good hard look at yourself , 99.9% of Maiden shirts are black , how can you not like it , the mighty panthers also wear black !
B - if you really do have a problem with black screens ( and black t-shirts for that matter ) maybe consider finding a new place to waste your time, because I really dont want to hear whining !

Like I said, the changes will be happening this coming weekend , the Oz tour is over , its time for this place to have its own identity again.


BTW - dark screens really are better for the environment , but I really couldnt give a toss about that , im changing it because I really want this place to have a feel of its own and all the sand stone stuff and the tour banner was really just for the tour and sadly , its over in this neck of the woods - wish it wasnt, but it is !

thanks - everything is already taken care of - with this place there isnt much you can do with the php code.
As for imaging - can you draw eddie ?

To change the colour, there would be very little coding involved. Just changes to any embedded or external CSS files. Or hey, I don't know how PROBOARDS works. Maybe they provide a really simple to use GUI to edit page details, so it could be done via that.

Oh, and that energy saving thing by using darker colours is pretty much complete bullshit.

For old CRT monitors, maybe the phosphors aren't actually lit up (leaving those pixels black), there is SOME reported energy being saved. But it is extremely minimal.

However, that isn't the case with LCD monitors (which are MUCH more common nowadays). LCD screens don't use electron guns in conjunction with phosphors like CRTs. The way LCD's produce black is to energize all the pixels that need to be black, "illuminating" them, which makes them opaque, and "get in the way" of the backlight, which is always on. In this way, using a completely black background could potentially INCREASE power consumption, which would be completely counter productive.

But then again, I think a black background would be nicer than this current blue one. So go for it.
