Ive been cranking it on my jaw droppingly good Hi Fi.... the only two tracks I feel a little indifferent to are These Colours Dont Run (although I like the chorus) and The Pilgrim... but a few more listens could easily change that!
All the other songs kick ass! Its very proggy, heavy... I hear some X Factor, some DoD and some Bruce solo influence in there....
back to listening..

These Colors Dont Run is an average track at best, typical modern Harris penned track. Having only heard the first 8 tracks so far... I agree... my least fave so far... I like the pilgrim cause of the scales used... it is a little bit unusual which makes it stand out.

This is really interesting. My favourite songs seem to be the least favourite with the rest of you. We'll see what the younger folk on here think, might be a generation thing.

I think this album is friggin brilliant I have to agree... there will always be songs you like a bit less and songs that others will prefer to you... but overall I think this album sounds like an absolute cracker! There is so much to listen to... it is a big thing to listen to and devour in one go.... it is exhausting.... I can't wait to spend many hours listening to all the bits.... All I can say is..... ROLL ON EARL'S COURT.....

Okay okay, the list of recycled songs, here we go. This is after 2 listens.
These Colours Don't Run, sounds like a cross of the intro right before the first verse of No Prayer for the Dying and the 2nd verse of 2.am. And the chant after the solo sounds alot like the chant in The Clansman (Rock in Rio) since I dont own Virstual XI, not sure if it same. And the chorus music reminds me of the verses in infinite dreams (when heavy).
The Pilgrim, the intro after the drum part reminds me of Look for the Truth when it gets heavy. Then the chorus reminds me The Thin Line Between Love and Hate.
Out of the Shadows, when it gets soft after the intro sounds like the start of Infinite Dreams. And the chorus reminds me of Wasting Love.
For the Greater Good of God, the intro reminds me of the intro to Sign of the Cross after the chants.
I feel dirty for picking at this album, and I will buy it when it's released here and I am enjoying it. But the fact they think they have broken new territory is utter rubbish and their way of marketing the album. For me Dance of Death was that album.
All this wrapped up in flavours of Bruce solo and other various Maiden releases.
Brighter than a Thousand Suns and the Legacy sound fresh to me and I enjoyed those two songs the most thus far.
Lets hope they tour, huh?

TAKE BACK EVERYTHIGN I SAID! I just listened to the album in full, as loud as my speakers will go, and its ASTONISHING! Its so EPIC! Its just wow! It does the same thing for me that Blind Guardian do at their best. They sound totally different but the songs build up to epic proportions and climax and its just so AWESOME! For The Greater Good Of God was a real shocker to actually listen to whilst cranked really loud, i really love that song now! MAIDEN FOR LIFE!

There will be enough people doing that... true. i hope they do a show in europe ,or anywhere actually, that gets televised - would really like a pro shot boot from this tour, especially if they play the whole album live.

Only listened to it once essentially, and some on a PC with Crap speakers, give me time, bloody good though at this stage!!
The Legacy and the Pilgrim are impressive and so is TCdR and I still love TRoBB.
Need to hear it more, and I haven't had time!!
Bloody work.

I'm going to wait methinks....nothing like spinning a new album whilst perusing the booklet, with a fine ale in the hand
