if they come out, I honestly think they'll only play Melbourne and Sydney like they did in 1992. I hope i'm wrong but I doubt it. I hope if they only play 2 cities they'd play more than a show per city..

I'm not sure they would i'm afraid, I think they'll play reasonably big venues in both Sydney and Melbourne (If it is only 2 shows) and that would be it regardless of whether they sold out or not. I'm not sure they would sell them out either..people seem to think that Maiden would get 10,000 people to concerts here, I think they'd be surprised. But hey I hope they prove me wrong

But I'm a pessimist.. They'll need one hell of a promoter to get then the decent crowd the deserve.. I hope the prove US whong..

I must admit though it's a much different scenario than back in 1992.
Basically everyone knows that if they do come here, it will be their last time, so that in itself will get more people along. Also the fact that metal is almost making a comeback, especially with the 80's bands (just look at Guns N Roses) they may also get people along who are older types that want to go and see one of their favourite bands when they were growing up... all these things add to the attractiveness of a Maiden gig in Aus.

look guys thry didn't sell out in sydney in 92 and that was at the horden pavillion, which holds roughly 5000 so dont go thinking they'll do more than 1 show in each city.my bet if they do come here is they'll play syd, melb.dont mean to be negative

I don't know why IM isn't more popular in Oz.. Should I blame Aussie's music taste in general.. It annoys me how some lesser bands get more popular than them..

But GnR's have mainstream audience plus their songs have been played on musicMax and some rock radios all the time so people never lost track of them. The metalheads in Oz seem to be a bit ignorant as far as IM are concerned.. Sorry but that's how I see it.

Mate I agree with you there 100% BUt I do think that you will see a lot of old metal fans come out of the wood work if Maiden were to make it back here. Not saying they will come in droves but I guarantee there will be more at the shows next year (if they go ahead) than 1992.

I just don't think the band would be so impressed with anything less than 10,000.. They can get twice that number almost anywhere in Europe.. But I'm getting ahead of myself now.. We don't know yet if they are REALLY coming..

What do you guys mean by Australian fans being ignorant towards IM? Nearly everyone i know that likes anything from rock and above would go to a maiden gig.
