I talked to Hanny before and he said he's appriciated the gesture, but there is heaps of other cool bands out there that have potential to open for Iron Maiden, more so with more popular bands like Airbourne and Rose Tattoo cos of their label and having more money. But still there is no harm in trying, if they see we want an Aussie act they might still have the original support and make a consideration for either LORD and BM. Alof of people think that the position will be better suited to LORD, and I agree since LORD hasn't had much luck with promotions and what not for awhile. I'm sure Hanny would see this aswell, since he and the guys in BM aren't greedy people. In anycase everyone deserves the chance to open for Maiden, i'd be happy to see any Aussie band open, but I just selected those two because I thought they'd be best suited the audience attending the show. Plus it would be great exposure for the band or bands opening.

I just thought it would be fitting to choose BM and LORD to open, and also Eyefear and Vanishing Point have had some pretty good support slots in the past, Blind Guardian, Dragonforce, Gamma Ray, Evergrey etc. Since BM haven't gotten the chance to play with anyone "huge" in Australia, in awhile I thought it would give them a chance to get their music out to the Australian audiences, same goes for LORD. Since LORD isn't Dungeon anymore and have never support anyone huge "yet", it's only fair to share the love. As Hanny said to me, everyone deserves a chance at becoming the support act, but it all depends on the promotion and touring company. Australia has a wide range of excellent music, from bar spots right upto bands doing 1500+ packed shows, they all deserve a chance, but if we did that the show would go for like a whole day before we got to see Maiden. lolz! I'd love if they had 4 bands open for them, Eyefear, Vanishing Point, Black Majesty and LORD, but thats just going abit overboard and im sure the Maiden fans would not want to sit there for 2 hours waiting to see Maiden.

The less the better... IF I get FTTB I don't want to be stuck there through hours of supports...

So I reckon 2 would be more then enough, if we could have 4 that would be awesome but thats going abit overkill plus im sure the Maiden fans would get impatient and get angry. Hence my theory to have only 2 support acts, not 4. LOLz !!

The less the better... IF I get FTTB I don't want to be stuck there through hours of supports... I agree. Don't take this wrong BTG but we been waiting for IM for yearssssssss to come back and all we want is pure Iron Maiden all night These Aussie bands whom I am a great fan of as you know,& have seen many times and yes they have supported major acts before, BM just did overseas supporting a variety of major bands and LORD have a huge following and even when it was Dungeon they still got to support Megadeth.I luv BM and would luv any of these bands to get the support it would fantastic but What I am saying is do you realize how major IM fans are and all they want after all these years is to get in and get 2 pure hours of nothing but an IRON MAIDEN show, the excitement, vibe, fans atmosphere, nothing else to interrupt that much awaited show!

Too be honest, i don't care who give 2 hoots who the support act is. As long as their set is short and sweet and we can get on to business with Maiden!

I mentioned these forums to him and afew other things, but I'm sure he wont pop in to visit. I'll let you all know when I get a reply back.

In all honesty... no matter how good the band... I think they will have a tough time supporting, maiden fans will be there to hear one band only that night....
