Too be honest, i don't care who give 2 hoots who the support act is. As long as their set is short and sweet and we can get on to business with Maiden! Haha!! No worries, im sure the support acts will be thinking the same thing. I've sent an e-mail off to Mr. Dickinson, so hopefully by next week we'll hear a reply. I mentioned these forums to him and afew other things, but I'm sure he wont pop in to visit. I'll let you all know when I get a reply back. I doubt you will get a response - good luck if you do.

I just sent an e-mail to his BBC Radio station, if that guy named Mohamed got through to him about coming down to Australia, I'm sure I might have some luck getting through to him. I actually got a response back afew moments ago, it stated that Bruce is on holiday and he'll reply to my e-mail in 2 weeks.

Ok, I got another e-mail...which wasn't an automatic e-mail which said he wasn't in the office til the 19th of September cos he's on holidays. Yet, I could ring him on some god awful long number, I assume it's the number to Bruce's radio show in the UK.
Do we know anyone in the UK that could ring this number and try and help me out?
Cheers,

Since LORD isn't Dungeon anymore and have never support anyone huge "yet", it's only fair to share the love. Well, not wanting to take anything away from people suggesting we should be the support but we did do the Queensryche and Gamma Ray shows, so that's kinnnda big (although not on the same level as Megadeth or Maiden, etc.) With the supports too, SOMEONE is gonna get it so it may as well be a band that people enjoy. I'm like you guys - if there was a chance to see 3 hours of Maiden, OF COURSE I'd be up for that, but it's not gonna happen. There'll be at least one 45 minute support for this show whether we want it or not. One thing that does kind of irk me a little about this stuff is when people yell at the support bands to get off so the main act will get on sooner. Um, no - the schedule is planned out already. Even if the support leaves early, the main act will still come on at the same time - there'll just be a bigger wait (although with some shitty supports, that can be preferable! HAHA!) But yeah, I think the idea of getting an Aus metal band to support (even a different one for each city if need be) is a good thing if no politics have already come into play and the decision is already out of everyone else's hands.

I really think LORD would be awesome for the support. Out of all the bands in Australia who I think take the music thing seriously, LORD are the band that i think matches Maiden's sound most closely. I can just see it, if 15,000 people see maiden, and 5,000 watch LORD, I bet that atleast 1,000 won't mind them, and probably 50-200 would be willing to go and see them locally. Since LORD pull around 150-200 nowadays (atleast thats my judgement), i reckon another 200 would make a massive difference to the atmosphere and revenue from the gig. I just don't wanna see a support spot wasted on some shitty irrelevant band that i won't see ever again. I'd rather an Aussie band, whoever that may be, get the support spot for Maiden so they are able to further their product. Queensryche and Gamma Ray were awesome shows, but Maiden are just a whole other level.
And about screaming at support bands to get off, i felt like screaming at DOWN before Heaven and Hell's set earlier this year. They were shit, not my thing. But i realised it would serve no purpose, and although i didnt like their music, it probably meant alot to them so yeah, decided to put myself i their shoes, i wouldnt like it if someone screamed at me to get off stage, so that why i didnt do it. Besides that, like LT said, it wouldnt have resulted in anything anyway! LORD and Black Majesty for supports!!
Anwar you're a F**king champion! If i were in a band(s) that you supported so greatly i would make love to you i think! Its awesome having fans like yourselves. Although petitions probably dont do much at all, I firmly believe all these maiden petitions and forums and things have certainly helped our chances of them coming!!! AND NOW THEY ARE! Hopefully we can get local supports to! Seeya round, bed time!

Having said all of that, I wouldn't have minded too much if Down left the stage early! HAHA! (Not a fan, I'm sure they're great at what they do)

But still there is no harm in trying, if they see we want an Aussie act they might still have the original support and make a consideration for either LORD and BM. Alof of people think that the position will be better suited to LORD, and I agree since LORD hasn't had much luck with promotions and what not for awhile. I'm sure Hanny would see this aswell, since he and the guys in BM aren't greedy people. In anycase everyone deserves the chance to open for Maiden, i'd be happy to see any Aussie band open, but I just selected those two because I thought they'd be best suited the audience attending the show. The crown of the Australian melodic metal: Vanishing Point: www.myspace.com/vanishingpointofficialEyefear: www.myspace.com/eyefearThey arent to bad but i think that Black Majesty are the best of the mentioned badns followed by lord

Cheers for the words of support there, guys! All I can say is we're doing our best and we'll just have to wait and see what the promoter decides.
