I was thinking of just getting fabric and drawing some images on it, then we can use a fine brush and write what we need to do. I know Spotlight have heaps of stores around Melbourne, so we could try and organize a day to get together and make it. The fabric we'd use would be pretty thick since the cheapest fabric is pretty thin and the paint would go right through it. One of my mates did one for the Blind Guardian show, it was about a meter long by 30cm high. Ours would haveto be about a meter high by say, 2 meters long or alittle less for it to have the full effect. I'll ring around today and see what I can find since it's my day off from work. We also have some good fabric stores down in Mornington, so I can check around there aswell...plus im sure i can find some stuff in our spare room. We'd have to use acrylic paint as oil or water based paints would just go right through the fabric and will look like a baby vomited on it. I have shit loads of acrylic paints in my studio, so i can just use those. Finally i'd need a image of the alphabet used in the Iron Maiden text, I'm sure someone would be able to find one if we look hard enough. I'll get back to you when I find some fabric, please feel free to look aswell as we might be able to get material alot cheaper in other areas. Akalilith, would you make a unique design for the banner, or just use one of the many original eddies around on the net? Cos we could make a Aussie eddie, have him wearing a wife beater, shorts, thongs, a cork hat and have him with a VB in his hand while sitting in one of those el-cheapo fold out chairs. lol! Just an idea. Cool. Feel free to look around at different stores for different material we can use. I'll have a look around my house today and go down to the fabric stores we have here. I'd say we'll come back at the end of the week and see what we all have to offer. i can give you images of the letters - just tell me where to put them and what size you want. |

^I have 3 in total at that size, one for you, one for me and a spare! I also have one at 730mm x 55cm (approx) which is the smaller one pictured. The full paper (A3) advert is beside it. Just an idea. I could draw ANOTHER Aussie Eddie. ;D Have you seen a couple of my Eddie sketchs on BDU tshirt thread? Can one of those be customed to use for the banner? I can add any details you want (VB beer, Shorts, a coala doll..etc).  |

BTG, did you get my e-mail with the font attached? Yes I did, thank you. Im thinking if we use a yellow fabric and have green font so we have a Australian themed banner, or we could just go with white and see how we go with that. Each letter will be hand drawn then painted, it may seem hard but it's pretty easy. The project shouldn't take more then a day or two to complete. I haven't been to a fabric store quite yet cos I was busy yesterday and will be for the next two day. I get Tuesday off from work so I can pick some fabric up when I go into Frankston when I pick up my copy of Halo 3.  I'll go with a moderately price fabric, so it will be durable and thick enough to paint on. Akalilith, i'll have a look at some of you're designs and see which one would be best suited to the banner, im sure anything will do cos you're work is awesome. ;D I'll get back to you guys once I have everything ready. |

Im going into Frankston in the morning to pick some fabric. I'll get quite abit then we can leave some room for error, and with whatever is left over we can always make a banner for the meet up so people know where the meet up will be.
I'll just get a plain white sheet and we can work on designs and whatnot tomorrow afternoon.
I'll have some spare time all this week so I can do it all then.
Akalilith, I don't know how we can use you're design but if you do a rough sketch and I can draw it on the banner then i'll just give you credit for the idea and sketches or if there is another way we can do it I'm open for anything.
I'll post the measurements and whatever else needed tomorrow when I get the fabric.

If there is any way you can draw cartoony pictures of the band AKALITH then id say go for that. If there is only a little amount of lines to draw then id say we could get a stencil made and just draw it. I think the picture you do that are lifelike would be too hard to get onto a banner.
