I wouldn't bother with a PS3 at the moment, not many games, plus most of them get pushed back cos it takes so long to code and write games on Blu-Ray discs. Got some amazing games coming out next year, looking forward to it. I got Ace Combat 6 for Chrissy, its a new flight simulator for the Xbox360. Graphics are amazing, and the levels are frigging huge. Dogfighting online is pretty cool, playing it again and getting all the planes...damn, its so hard on the ace difficulty.

Gamecube is hard to buy for because it is pretty much a dead system, market-wise. They don't really make anything for it anymore. If you want Gamecube games, there is a FANTASTIC place in South Autralia that you can order from via the internet. I've done like 6 orders with them, I always get them quickly, in good condition. Not only that but their prices are fantastic too (even for brand new games) www.dvdcrave.com.auThen of course, there is always Ebay and Amazon. People try to unload their old games there too. Once thing I love about the Xbox-360 is that you can rip music to its hard-drive and listen to it while you play games. I've already got some Maiden on mine, plan to put on some Dream Evil ater tonight.

I bought the HD DVD add on for the xbox360.
I am having trouble with the xbox 360 and my new 50" 1080P plasma. When connecting via HDMI cable and setting the xbox to 1080p the picture is crappy, even the dashboard has pixel runs all over the place and when I play back content (HD DVD or divx avi's) it is like all the colours are being encircled... like there is some effect on the image... but when I set the xbox to 1080i the image cleans up... The tv recognises the signal as 1080i or 1080p so I don't think it is the tv... I think there is something funny going on with the signal out of the xbox... but not sure... if anyone has any ideas...

I've actually got mine setup so that it streams the music from my PC into the 360, because i've got too much music to put onto the harddrive haha. It's great, really handy. The only thing is it means the computer has to be turned on, but thats not too much of an issue for me because its nearly always running anyway.

My HDTV only recognizes 1080i. Whenever I set it to 1080p the image on the screen goes all blurry and looks like im just using normal AV cables. When did you buy your Xbox? Alot of people have had problems with the HD DVD add on also. It has something to do with the system I believe, not the TV itself...even if your TV does support 1080p. Try it on another 1080p TV and if it does the same thing you might want to send it back to Xbox for repairs. It might be the GPU acting up. If you bought the system in the last 12 months all repairs will be free. Best thing to do is ring Xbox customer support and they should help you out, or you can try the Xbox Australian forums. www.xbox.com.auHere is the support page: www.xbox.com/en-AU/support/To log in and ask a question on the forums, click on 'sign in' in the top right hand corner of the xbox website. Use the MSN Live account name and password which you use for Xbox Live to login.. Xbox Customer Support: 1800 555 741

Thanks, but the Xbox360, TV and HD DVD are all under a month old....
I see no reason why any of them shouldn't all work together with a 1080p signal via HDMI given that is what they are all supposed to do.
I have emailed both Samsung and Xbox help to see what they say....

I have emailed both Samsung and Xbox help to see what they say.... Ah no worries. Its highly unlikely you have one of the older models of the 360. But if you do, they did have afew problems with their GPU and certain other parts. All the old models have been taken off the shelves an taken back to Microsoft to install new parts along with 65nm chipset which is cooler, quieter and processes information alot quicker. I got new parts put in mine afew months back when I got the 3 rings. The 3 rings was a real big problem in the old 360 models, it was a faulty internal error which killed the CPU and the system would pretty much kill itself due to overheating or having poorly made parts in the system...but that problem has finally been fixed due to Microsoft spending over a billion dollars on repairs and replacements in the last year. There is a new model of the 360 coming out very soon called "Xbox Ultimate", which includes a HDDVD already in the system, 320 gig harddrive, Wi-fi support, the new 65 nm chipset which will be almost super quite and will also support the ability to tape HD TV to your massive harddrive. stuff.tv/News/BIG-IN-2008-Xbox-Ultimate/I assume the price tag of this monster will be around $1000 when it gets to Australia. If your going to buy a new system, id probably wait til this came out. It would be the most supportive system on the market and may even kill the PS3 in sales...but to experience its full potential you'll need to buy a HDTV and a decent 5.1 system. Edit: Good news for Xbox360 users who want Metal Gear Solid 4. www.n4g.com/xbox360/News-96217.aspx

Haha, Mario is definitely one of those games. I can't remember how many times my controller went flying through the room when trying to beat Mario 64.

Im still waiting for Guitar Hero 3 to come in at JB Hifi, they have been sold out since Christmas. The package now is only $150, you get GH3 and the Les Paul guitar. I'll keep looking around for one, but everyone seems to have run out of stock. PS3 and Wii are in abundence, but Xbox360 have nothing left. By the way Mitch, have you had any probs with your GH3 guitar?

I haven't had any problems at all with my guitar, and i've played it an absolute shitload. But it'll be interesting to see if it still works fine after 6 months or so.
When you get it Anwar, we must catch up and have a jam together.
