I thought pre-sales would allow us to buy general admin tickets, not just seating. Yes there will be a SELECTION of general admission tix as well as a SELECTION of seating from all across the venue. read the fine print again... A pre-sale is an opportunity to secure tickets prior to the General Public, not a preferential seating service. A selection of seating throughout the venue is made available for pre-sales. * or until pre-sale allocation is sold out.

Just to clarify, I just got off the phone with Ticketek, we are allowed to buy what ever ticket we want, but as a guideline with seating it will be random. This doesn't bother me cos i'll be in general admission. Woohoo!!
The lady said the information of the seating will be released tomorrow so if anyone wants to give them a ring tomorrow they can, she also mentioned that the ticket prices should be up by Monday next week. I assume the most we'll pay is $120, but dont hold me on that.

I reckon it'd be safe to say we should prepare ourselves for $150-$200
Would be an AWESOME bonus if it were between 100-150 but the cost of getting them down here in that plane is gunna be expensive and I reckon that'll show in the ticket prices.
Keeping fingers crossed though.

Keeping fingers crossed though. $150 isn't to bad, but $200 is abit overkill. I don't think alot of the fans would be able to make such a sacrifice of $200, more so with going to nearly every show and or being in debt and any other problems with money. One of my friends who saw them in America said the tickets were around $60, which is around $70 here. They didn't go to all the states and didn't sell out at every show but they would have still made a small profit from merchandise and whatnot. If you think about it, if they have the tickets at $99 and have merchandise shirts for say $35 - $40 they could still make a nice little profit, more so with having extra shows. In anycase I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it wont be to expensive, but you have to think that all the big shows that have come down here in the past year have been at small venues that only hold 1500 people, these Maiden shows will hold over 15,000 people so they could still make the prices alittle less then $150.

Yeah I'm just going by prices set for international acts of recent times in much smaller venues.
Festy hall and gigantour were what? about 80 bucks? Same with the Arch Enemy gig coming up is about the same price, same place.
Children of Bodom were at The Corner Hotel and they were 60 somethin I think. Not sure can't remember.
How much are Motorhead tix? How much were Slayer tix? Anyone remember?

Motorhead have second shows already and I wouldn't be surprised if they sold out before the initial tour. When I saw Tool at Rod Laver back in 2001 they nearly sold out, and the merch stand was completely sold out. Even though a hoodie was close to $80 and a shirt was $45. I believe their tickets were around $99, which was pretty decent I reckon to see Tool and The Melvins. Usually bands do better in merch sales then the initial show, and if Maiden bring down a swag of merch they'll be able to probably buy Tasmania with all the profits. lol! I reckon the tickets wont be to expensive, I mean Tool totally ripped off their fans with merch but they still made the tickets a reasonable price. I reckon Maiden will do the same, bring in more people with cheap tickets then milk them dry with merch. I've heard alot of people will be spending close to $500 - $1000 on merch for themselves and friends. So whatever way you look at it, Maiden will win either way. No matter if tickets are expensive and merch is cheap, or vise versa.

I agree with Wrathchild - sitting down wtf?
I reckon the general admission standing tickets will go VERY fast, especially as there are probably more sitting tickets available... Can you imagine sitting down at a Maiden gig or worse, trying to stand up and losers behind you telling you to sit down... fark that!

Can you imagine sitting down at a Maiden gig or worse, trying to stand up and losers behind you telling you to sit down... fark that! yeah that was my point about presales not being preferential seating. There'll only be a select number of general admission tix allocated for sale through the IMOC, ONCE AND IF they sell out then the only tix that will be available left will be seating. LIKE FOR EXAMPLE Rod Laver holds roughly 15,000 IMOC may be allocated 2,500 tix to sell at presale 1,500 may be general admin 1,000 may be seating SO, that being said....if you were wanting just general admin tix BE AWARE that the allocation for them may sell out very quickly BUT if you miss out on the IMOC presale general admin tix.... THERE WILL be another presale through Ticketek on the 25th where you'll have ANOTHER CHANCE to get general admin before the general public ,if you're in no way wanting to get seat tix.

Anwar, I think you're underestimating the price. Heaven and Hell was $150 man. I reckon maiden will be thereabouts. Also, how are all of you sure there will be a general admission section? Heaven and Hell was ALL seated!!! Fine, Not many in A reserve sat down, but, it was SOLD as SEATING. So yeah, there might not even be a General Admission section so to speak. My point here is, if it is seating right in front of the stage, then there will be even less opportunity for us to get tickets. Think about it, you can fit more people into an area if they are standing rather than if they are sitting. Hopefully it's GA, I'm with you guys.
Also, I think all of you are overreacting. I doubt this gig will sell out as quick as alot of you think. If tickets are General Admission, who cares about how quickly you get tickets? As long as you get a GA ticket, then its all good. How close you get to the front will depend on how early you line up on the day, but more so if you win that "first to the barrier" thing advertised if you're an IMOC or IMFC member. Thats the only reason i signed up to IMOC, not for advanced tickets. Tickets would never sellout on pre-sales, due to the fact that tickets are limited. The only reason i signed up was to be first to the barrier, MAYBE meeting the band in the venue before. F**k, im excited!!
BTW uni is going to cost me 8K!! for the first semester nextyear. Thats 8k i gotta save up for uni alone! Theres no way i can do it. Bah. Im still not missing maiden, definately going all east coast shows.
In regards to Perth - i think i wil just wait a few weeks and seeif a second Melb or Syd show is announced, if it is then i wont go Perth. If they arent announced i will judge my money situation, and depending on whether Perth is soldout i will make my decision on my Perth attendence. Sorry for the lnog post, but thought I'd make a few points worth making.
