METALLICA has announced the title of its new album — "Death Magnetic"


That title kinda sucks, hoping they've put more thought into the music

Yeah, the title doesn't sound too good. Which is kinda disappointing, because all of their other albums have had cool sounding names.

there albums from the 80's had good titles...then the 90's came and so did the dull albums with equally dull titles ,hell one was even self titled and became known commonly as "the black album" possibly a reference to the end of there thrash days and the start to there radio friendly arena rock rubbish.not holding my breath for there so called return to greatness,that was stated when they were releasing stanger and what a flop that turned out to be,hers a tip lars... tune your drums and record them properly you can afford it,hey kirk you've rated as one of the best lead guitarist in metal....where were the solos,bob rock stay the F**k away from metal bands and stick with your glam cock rock bands.

Well from the samples i've heard on their missionmetallica site i haven't heard anything yet that has made me get too excited. To me it sounds like Black/Load, but it is hard to grasp a song from just a 30sec sample.
I don't want a return to the old days i just want a strong, epic, metal album. Hope they can deliver the goods

agree with you sands,i dont want them to do another master of puppets album(pure brilliance)but something that is metal and utilises james thunderous riffs of doom that had so much angst and precision speed,kirk's leads to complement those riffs,lars remembers how to play double kick again and tunes his snare drum,and robert to utilize his bass playing magic(listen to his ST albums...gold)

basically i want them to make a proper metal album,no fancy bullshit jazz,country whatever... just straight up METAL UP YOUR ASS album

It's out in September some time, but go to youtube, their is a bit of studio footage there, or join up at the missionmetallica site for studio previews.
The clip they showed late last week was the best Metallica riff i've heard in eons!

heard and seen some footage of their latest stuff,sounds interesting and riffy...and low and behold kirk is actually bustin out solos.will listen to the new album when it's available,as i have for all their albums...hopefully a better return to form.been waiting since 88 for a strong metal album from these "once the kings of thrash"

As previously reported, a Finnish retailer called Record Shop X recently listed September 17 as the release date for "Death Magnetic". An official release date has yet to be announced by the band or its label, although band members have been saying that the album will arrive in September.

meh, metallica - meshmallica - couldnt really give a toss. I will rpobably download the album more to piss Lars off than to enjoy the music ( which would be a bonus but the likelihood of that happening is about as good as the odds that I will win powerball 3 weeks in a row ). I hope it is better than st anger , which was bad, even for my really low standards for metallica.
