I think I better become a Maiden fanclub member just incase, even though it may not fully sell out in the inital first days I wouldn't want to miss out on this event, and with my new job I wouldn't be able to just leave for Sydney if I missed out on the Melbourne show. From what I've seen and heard so far I reckon they'll have another show, the days are so far spread out that we might even see Maiden three nights in a row. But at the moment I dont think we have to much to worry about, If you look at the number of people on the Maiden forums who are Aussie's the number is quite small, I'd assume only about 100 or so people would be official members and the others like me just post on the forums. It's abit of keen marketing strategy by the promotion company to sell tickets alot quicker by getting people to frantically join the fanclub. You have to think that most of the Maiden fans in Australia would be in there mid to late 30's, 40's and 50's and wouldn't have exposure to the internet like alot of younger kids. I seriously wouldn't worry about tickets selling out in the first day, Metallica took 2 days to sell out and Tool took around 8 hours, yet Maiden have a much older fanbase and the message probably wouldn't reach the true hardcore fans til days later. In anycase it's you're choice to get a membership or not, I'm still deciding but I'll see how things go. If you look at the first Motorhead show in Melbourne, it sold out in about a week, which I would assume have the same age fanbase as Iron Maiden. Rod Laver hold over 15,000 people and I wouldn't really see that many tickets sell in a matter of minutes in the first day. If you looked at the Gun's and Roses concert that was held at Rod Laver, that did extremely well but didn't sell out...or did I? HAHA! I forgot, in anycase I dont think the first show would sell out in the first day of tickets sales, even if the fanclub members did get first dibs on the tickets. But only time will tell I guess.

OK ummmmm I've got my finger teetering on that panic button again.... I've just noticed on the IMOC underneath everybody's user names the following quotes: Not an FC member - no pre-sale for me :- ( and on others.. I'm an FC member - bring on the pre-sale! Is it time to press the button yet?!!!

My IMFC expired and I rejoined IMOC only this time on wed night and my listing already says I'm an FC member - bring on the pre-sale! So I am not sure what you are worried about? Are you a member and does it say I'm an FC member - bring on the pre-sale!?

Posted by admin on IMOC:
News of how and when will be posted on the main website in due course.
You'll be sent a presale code via Private Message, probably on the 19th. You'll also get a link to the ticketing site. Put the two together and voila.
Nearer the actual day, I'll confirm exactly when things are being sent - you'll have all the info in good time.
and
The fc presale lasts several days, we won't be selling out the venue to FC only so I wouldn't worry too much.

Bloody confused now!
Not sure how long FC membership takes to be approved, but I have definately paid for both the FC and the OC, so I will just wait for the exact details to filter down to us.

Good to see that Admin posts on the IMOC on a regular basis and clears up the details.
All is going to be good by the time tickets become available, I have faith.

But only time will tell I guess. speaking of older fans, i was walking past a pub late last night and this guy in his late 30s i'd say calls out "YOU HEAR IRON MAIDEN ARE COMING IN FEB!!!" and his mates cheered and i was just hell yeah spread the word!! But yeah that was random maiden fan number two in two days. It's a good vibe! On topic: I'm joining IMFC on monday, i like many other people here have been hanging out to join it, but given i don't have my own credit card there are lots of internet purchases which never really eventuate. Now i have a concrete reason to join. Yes!!
